We live in dangerous times. Now more than ever, we need to pray the promises of God over our children.

According to the Washington Post, suicide has become the second-most common cause of death in teens and young adults.

Some of the things affecting our children today are suicidal thoughts, drugs, peer pressure, bullying, pornography, mental health, and a multitude of addictions.

It’s difficult to raise children in an ungodly world, but God has given us the tools we need to do the job He has called us to do as parents.

Praying according to the Word of God for our children is one of those tools.

The Word of God is powerful, and it does what God sent it to do. (Isaiah 55:10).

Here are 48 verses that will help you as a guide to pray for every area of your children’s lives.

Praying the Promises of God Over Your Children

Health

Psalm 103:2-3 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.

Anger/Temper

Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Discipline

Hebrews 12:10 For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us so that we might share in his holiness.
