Are you a Virtuous Woman? Learn how to be one in 6 Easy Steps

We all know about her, the Proverbs 31 woman, the Wonder Woman of the Bible.

Reading about this woman makes me want to be her and at the same time it makes me realize how far I am from being her.

The Wonder Woman of the Bible, is the perfect wife, the perfect mom, the perfect homemaker, and if that wasn’t enough she is also an amazing financial administrator.

I want to be like her. Even though I know that on this Earth I will never be perfect, I do want to try my best to be the woman that God has called me to be.

I want to be a woman that not only my parents, my husband, and my kids are proud of, but most importantly I want to be a daughter that My Father God is proud of.

We all want to be better, don’t we?

That’s the reason why I have put together 6 easy steps that will help us be more like the virtuous woman. I include myself because while I am writing for you, The Holy Spirit is also speaking to me.

Don’t just read the 6 steps and run, because at the end I’m am going to give you the key that will help you achieve these steps.

Step One: Fear The Lord

In Proverbs 1, Solomon said “The Fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. This fear is not the same fear that we are used to. The fear of The Lord is about, love, honor, faithfulness and respect.

The virtuous woman is wise because she fears The Lord. This means that she honors, loves, respects and is faithful to The Lord. This fear makes her wise about all the decisions and the choices she makes because she has made God first in her life.

In order to be a virtuous woman we must have God reigning in our hearts. The more we honor Him, love Him, respect Him the more we will be the woman He knows we can be.

Step Two: Love Like God Loves

In Proverbs 31 we see that this woman is an amazing wife. She takes care of her husband, She knows his mind, she makes him happy. She brings him honor and brings him good all of the days of her life. Her husband trust her and she enriches his life.

You want to know what her secret is?

She has the God kind of love in her. She loves her husband with “The God Kind Of Love”. That is the reason why she is such an amazing wife!

What is The God Kind of love?

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13

When you learn to love like this, you will be a virtuous woman to your husband.

Step Three: Be Diligent And A Good Steward

I am not telling you that you have to wake up before the sun is up to get your house ready for the day.

What I am telling you is to be diligent. The dictionary describes diligent as a constant effort to accomplish something and persistent in doing anything.

Now, the dictionary describes a steward as a person that manages another’s properties or financial affairs.

We are stewards of all the things that God has given us, including our family and our homes.

Nobody likes lazy people, not even God.

Being diligent doesn’t mean that we have a perfect home, laundry is all done, dishes are clean, the kids look perfect and we look like a Victoria Secret Model.

Diligent means working hard, trying our best, working smart and be a good steward of our homes, our finances, our time, and our lives. Let’s be diligent and a good steward.

To help you in this area, there is a wonderful sermon teaching called Financial Stewardship, you can watch it here.

Easy steps that will help you to be a virtuous woman. Easy steps that we can all follow.

Step Four: Watch Your Mouth

“The Law of love and kindness is written in her heart and it shows in her tongue.”

The Bible tells us that the mouth speaks what is in our hearts. So, do you like the words that are coming out of your mouth?

Are you wise in the way you speak? Do you give good advice according to The Word of God?

Do you use you words to build and edify others? or do you use your words to be negative and put people down and gossip?

Remember, every time you speak, you are being a testimony to others.

If you don’t like what is coming out of your mouth then check what you are putting in your heart. Feed yourself life from The Word of God.

In order to be a virtuous woman you must be wise with your words and also know when to speak and when it is better to stay quiet. The Holy Spirit will help you in this area.

Joyce Meyer preached about The Power of Words, it will bless your life, you can watch it here.

Step Five: Stand Firm

When the storms of life come against the virtuous woman, she stands tall, unwavering, unmovable, unshakable. She stands firm.

This does not speak of how strong she is, instead, it speaks about how strong her foundations is.

How is your foundation? Do you fall apart every time a problem arises?

Spend time building your foundation because that is what is going to keep you standing firm in the mist of the storm.

Here are a few keys that will help you build a strong foundation.

  1. Develop a personal relationship with The Lord.
  2. Spend time studying The Word of God.
  3. Listen to bible teachers that speak the uncompromised truth of The Word of God.
  4. Talk to God, all the time, everywhere.
  5. Go to a church that preaches the Bible, that focuses on Jesus, that will feed your spirit. Not all churches are created equal so you have to make sure you are in the place that God wants you to be.

Step Six: Be a Blessing to others

The world does not revolve around us. God did not put us in this Earth just to be happy and enjoy all the great things in life.

We were made for a greater purpose. We were made to serve others, we were made to be a blessing to others.

We should start each and every day asking God how can we be a blessing to someone today?

When you surrender your life to Him, when you surrender your agenda, God will use you. We are in this place to bring glory to His name. People will know that there is a God that love them through you.

In conclusion

Being a virtuous woman is more than being the perfect wife and the perfect mom. Being a virtuous woman is working each day to be the person that God has called us to be.

Start today, follow these easy 6 steps, be diligent and do your best. You can do this because with God all things are possible. Be your best you!!!

Love these tips on how we can model after the Proverbs 31 woman and be more virtuous. I am so glad that I don’t have to put pressure on myself to be perfect wife and mom, because I definitely fall short! But praise God that we can be virtuous women through the strength and power of Christ! Blessings to you and your family!

I don’t know that I would call them “easy” steps…sometimes they can be difficult in this day and age. But I think being a work in progress and moving towards what God calls you to be each and every day is a good starting point.

Thanks for sharing! I think it’s easy to get hung up on the word virtuous. We think we have to become someone we aren’t, a lesser version of ourselves perhaps. Virtue has the root meaning of having valor and merit. I like that. It can take great valor to walk with God as the one we are created to be and live in relationship with the Divine. I love that walk and that relationship.
