20 Ways to Fall Back in Love with your Husband

20 Ways to Fall Back in Love with your Husband

Who would have thought one-day the beautiful bride would read a post about how to fall back in love with your husband?

But it happens more often than we think. Life happens, kids come, and the ups and downs of marriage sometimes make us drift apart.

God created marriage as a foundation for the family. We must protect our marriages and work hard every day to make them work.

Marriage is hard work; it requires you giving your best all the time, every single day. It is difficult when 2 imperfect people get together. But with God’s help and your hard work, all things are possible.

Can you fall in love with your husband again?

The answer is yes! But it requires hard work.

It all starts in your heart. It starts with you choosing to love your husband no matter what. It requires you overlooking his imperfections and focusing on the good things.

It requires you to have the God kind of love towards your husband.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love never fails.

How to fall in love with your husband again

1. Why did you fall in love the first time?

Have some alone time, maybe when everybody goes to bed and grab a piece of paper and a pen. In it I want you to write all the good qualities that your husband has.

What did you like about him in the first place, what made you fall in love with him?

When you are done I want you to read all the things you wrote on the paper and save it. When things get rough in your marriage come back to the paper and read it, meditate on it. Remind yourself why you love him and choose to love him again.

2. Prioritize your husband

With our jobs, kids, housework, church and extracurricular activities it is very hard to make our husbands our priority. But we really need to if we want to have a happy marriage.

Find a few minutes here and there to connect with your husband. Call him or send him a text during the day. Go to bed together. Buy his favorite food. Put the phone down and give him your attention.

Let him know that he is important to you. Remember, love is what we do, not what we say.

3. Stop comparing him to other men

Quit looking outside your window thinking the grass is greener on the other side. The only perfect man that walked this earth was Jesus.

Don’t compare your husband with other men; we all have gifts, talents, and flaws. Focus on your husband the one you promised to be with and love until death do you apart.

4. Understand his love language

We all have different ways to show our love. Find out what is your husband’s love language so you can understand him better. Get the book The 5 Love languages!

You can go here and take a quiz to find out more about love language.

5. Don’t take your husband for granted

Instead of focusing on all of his shortcomings, why don’t you focus on all the things he does right?

Be grateful to God to have your husband with you. Be grateful for everything he does for you and your family. Show him your appreciation and tell him also how much you appreciate him.

It happens more than you think. These 20 steps will help your to fall back in love with your husband because your marriage is worth fighting for! #fallbackinlove, #husband, #marriageproblems

6. Don’t harden your heart towards him

Sometimes when we get hurt, we harden our hearts towards the person who hurts us. Don’t do this with your husband. Always pray to have a tender and loving heart towards him.

This post will help you in this area: What to do when your husband hurts you.

7. Little things matter

When was the last time you guys listened to your wedding song and danced to it?

When was the last time you guys walked around the neighborhood holding hands?

When was the last time you wrote a note and hid it for him to find? Little things matter. Little things add up. Little ambers start big fires!

8. What are you doing today?

Renew your love every day. What you did last week doesn’t count today. What are you doing today to spark the love back in your marriage? Yesterday was great, but today is a new day!

9. Do what you did before

Remember when you and your husband started falling in love? What things did you use to do?

Did you go out on dates? Did you talk on the phone a lot? Did you tell him how handsome he was? Did you hold hands all the time? Did you kiss all the time? Did you make yourself pretty for him?

Do the things you did before. The same effort that you put in at the beginning of the relationship needs to be there every single day.

10. Take responsibility for your behavior

We are great at pointing fingers; we are great at making excuses. But we need to take responsibility for our actions.

Marriage is 2 people working together. Put your big girl panties on and be the wife that God called you to be.

11. Don’t get lazy

A happy marriage requires hard work. Don’t get lazy thinking your marriage will survive by you doing the bare minimum.

Make an effort to fall in love with your husband again. Attempt to work hard in your marriage every single day and give the best you have.

12. Do the right thing yourself

I know that a lot of you think it’s not fair that you are trying to work on your marriage and your husband is not.

Don’t worry about your husband, all you have to do is pray for him to be the man that God called him to be. Trust God, let him deal with your husband’s heart. You do the right thing yourself.

13. Talk more

Put the phone down, turn the TV off and just talk. Give each other your undivided attention. A successful marriage needs good communication.

Be present and just listen to what he has to say, after all, you are his best friend.

14. Make dates a priority

The time you guys spend together by yourselves needs to be a priority. You don’t have to do anything fancy or expensive to enjoy each other’s company.

I found this idea at Just Simply Mom it’s super cool and fun it’s the Date Night Jar. Lots of great ideas to do during date night.

15. Pray for your husband

The most important thing we can do to fall in love again with our husbands is to pray for them and to pray for ourselves.

Ask God to help you love him again, ask Him to help you see your husband the way He sees him. God wants you to have a happy marriage and He can help you if you trust Him and you let Him.

I have The Power of a Praying Wife and it has helped me a lot to learn how to pray for my husband. I recommended!

16. Do something you have never done

Let the adventure begin! Go to new places, try new things, make love in a place in your house you never have. Go to a B&B, try a new sexual position. Play a sexy game! Do something different, do something fun!

17. Make love often

Intimacy with your husband is not just a physical release; it’s a deeper connection of the soul. God created sex for both husbands and wives to connect and enjoy.

You are never closer to each other than when you are intimate with each other.

18. Physical touch

This has nothing to do with sex. This is just a touch of a hand, a rub on the back, a hug, a kiss. To touch someone you love is to acknowledge their presence and to communicate your desire for them.

19. Speak love over your marriage

Words have power; the Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. So use your mouth to speak life and love over your husband.

Here are a few examples:

  • I love my husband with all my heart.
  • Each day, my husband and I fall in love with each other again.
  • Our marriage is happy, fun and full of love.
  • I see my husband how God sees him.
  • I am very attracted to my husband.
  • My husband is a blessing to my life.
  • I enjoy being with my husband.

20. Forgive him

It’s hard to love someone that you resent. Jesus told us we need to forgive to be forgiven and I don’t know about you but I need forgiveness every single day.

Choose to forgive your husband, don’t dwell on the things he has done or said to you. Unforgiveness keeps you from enjoying your husband and your marriage.

There is always hope!

Don’t give up, work on your marriage. You can fall back in love with your husband. Your marriage is worth it! Your family is worth it and don’t forget that with God all things are possible.

Put your trust in God and do your part. He has great things in store for you and your husband!

What awesome tips especially the one about comparing your husband to other men. You should never compare your spouse or marriage to anyone elses. You don’t really know what’s going on behind somebody elses doors. Thanks for sharing these tips!

These are some great tips. The tip about doing what’s right yourself is very pivotal. Regardless of your husbands actions, you should not change yours to match his. The Bible says that we win our husbands over with a quiet and general spirit. So in other words, let God handle him.

Yes, we are called to love our husbands as God does. We love them, we pray for them and we let God do the rest.
