Are you Praying for a miracle?

Are you Praying for a miracle?

Are you going through the hardest time in your life? Do you feel like only God can help your situation?

I have been in your shoes before; I know the feeling of drowning and desperation. I know what it’s like to go from believing to unbelief in a matter of seconds. Staying up all night praying for a miracle.

You are not alone. There are lots of women like you praying for a miracle in their marriage, a miracle for their sick children, a miracle to feed their children or a miracle for themselves. There are many women feeling the way you do.

I know that doesn’t ease the pain but I want you to know that there are women in the world praying for you because they are going through the same or similar situation themselves.

In this post, I will show you what a miracle is, 2 examples on the Bible and then I will show you how to pray for a miracle, and how to receive your miracle.

What is a miracle?

A miracle is a supernatural intervention of God in a crisis.

Examples of people that needed a miracle

The Woman with the issue of blood

In Mark 5:25, we find a woman that has had an issue of blood for 12 years. She went to all the doctors she could find and suffered all kinds of treatments. She spent all her money trying to find a cure for her disease but instead of getting better she was getting worse.

She was desperate for a miracle because she was in a hopeless situation. Thats’s when she heard that Jesus was in town.

For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

Mark 5:28

She knew she needed a miracle and did everything she could to get her miracle. She made her way through the crowd.

It was not easy, there were lots of people surrounding Jesus. She got pushed, squished, and shoved but she kept moving forward, with her eyes on Jesus.

She stretched out her arm until she finally felt the fabric of Jesus’s clothes on her fingers. Immediately, the power of God flowed into her body and healed her. The power was so strong that Jesus felt when power left His body.

Out of all the people that were touching Jesus, He felt when she touched His clothes. Her touch was different than all the others. It was full of faith!

Abraham

In Genesis 15, we find the story of Abraham. He was old and his wife Sarah was barren and past the age of bearing children. He was in a hopeless situation too, and only a miracle could change it all.

God knew the desire of Abraham and Sarah’s hearts and God promised them a child.

Abraham did not look at the natural facts, he didn’t spend time thinking about his situation instead, he believed God. Abraham”s situation was impossible, but He knew that God was greater than any impossibility.

Abraham believed for a miracle, and the Bible tells us that it was credited to him as righteousness. Abraham got his miracle baby, the one that he always prayed for.

This child grew up and Abraham’s descendants became like the sand of the earth in numbers, just like God promised.

How to pray a powerful miracle prayer

The Word of God encourages us to make our request known to God. But before you ask God for a miracle, you have to make sure that there is nothing that can keep you from receiving your miracle.

A powerful prayer requires 3 things: faith, love, and forgiveness.

Faith:

Without faith it is impossible to please God. What Abraham and the woman with the issue of blood had in common was faith. They believed before seeing the results. Jesus told the woman “Your faith had made you whole” it was her faith that activated the healing power of God that brought her miracle.

You can’t have a miracle if you lack faith. Faith to believe that God is the God of the impossible and that He makes a way where there seems to be no way. The Bible said that Abraham believed God, he didn’t pay attention to the natural circumstances, he chose to believe God’s promise for his life and he didn’t stop believing until he saw that promise come to pass.

The Bible tells us that faith comes from hearing The Word of God. Find a scripture or a promise that applies to your situation and start believing, reading and listening to The Word of God. If your faith is weak, this post How to be strong in faith will help you.

Love:

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

Galatians 5:6

Love is so important because faith works by love, and without faith, there is no miracle.

Are you loving your neighbor as you do yourself?

Examine yourself, is your lack of love keeping you from receiving your miracle?

If you want to know about the connection between love and faith, you can read this post: How are faith and love connected.

Forgiveness

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

Mark 11:25

Believe it or not, the lack of forgiveness can keep you from receiving your miracle. It’s very important to God that you forgive others just like He has forgiven you.

Check your heart and before you make your miracle prayer request forgive those who have hurt you.

How to receive a miracle

Most Christians believe that God can do miracles, but believing is not enough. You need to learn how to receive your miracle and it all starts with The Word of God.

The Word of God is powerful, everything you see was created with only the spoken word of God. So you need to learn how to use it on our behalf.

You can’t just pray and hope for the best. First, you have to plant the Word of God in your heart and believe that word. The word has the power to create your miracle. When you pray, you are just watering the planted word.

The Word strengthens your faith and just as Jesus said to the woman with the issue of blood “Your faith has made you whole” your faith makes your miracle happen.

You need faith to receive your miracle, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

In Mark 11:23 Jesus told you to speak to your mountain and it will move.

What are you going to speak?

The Word of God.

You need to find out what The Word of God says about your situation and pray and confess that every day. Believe that God is faithful to make His promises come to pass, just like He did with Abraham.

Last, you need to thank Him every day for your miracle. Believe that you received it when you prayed! Calling those things that are not as though they were!

Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11: 23-24

These Elements of Faith will help you receive your miracle.

I have been praying for my Father-In-Law and for him to come to truly know Christ and be moved by Him. I love him unconditionally and forgive him when he acts out of greed and selfishness, but he is someone who has had such a hard heart that I know that if he were to be moved by Christ, it would cause a crazy ripple effect and a lot of people around him would become believers as well. I ask my 2 year old son every night who he wants to pray for and what is on his heart, and lately, most nights he says “Just Papa, and that should be all it”. He isn’t even really close with his Papa, but even my toddler feels the nudge to pray for a miracle for him and that moved me beyond compare.

Aww, how sweet of your son. I completely understand you, I also have someone in my life that I want with all my heart for him to change and give his life to The Lord. We just have to keep praying, keep believing, and keep speaking the word of God over them until we see the miracle come to pass.
